i am debating on those 2 phones, $ isnt a big deal in the decision. my concerns for the two phones are
Razr-brittle, and flip style. i can be rough on phones and am afraid by dropping the razr once it could be busted and to me a flip phone has a higher tendance to break

L7-itunes function isnt great, and better models could be out soon. anyone had both or want to chime in on this?

See More: which phone? Razr V3 or SLVR L7?

This reply is basically my opinion on the matter, so I'm sorry If I offend anyone in any possible ways.

People who own the RAZR or SLVR usually only purchase it because of how it looks; unique and amazing!

The truth is, Motorola is known to be the most cheaply built phones available, followed by Audiovox / UTStarcom.*

If you theororetically think of it, look how thin the phones are, if you were to drop them, they would have a much higher chance of breaking than a thicker phone.

I will admit I love how the RAZR looks, but, chances are, I would never end up getting one! I am aware of Motorola's reputation, and quite frankly would prefer a Samsung or Nokia phone.

Samsung and Nokia are the leading two most durable phone brands.** If you wish to purchase a phone that looks decent and you will most likely not have as much problems with, I would suggest Samsung / Nokia.

In the end, If you were to purchase the RAZR or SLVR, I would purchase extended warranty and check if you are allowed a Trial period (Usually 14 days, variant on Service Provider) to ensure you really want the Motorola phone you choose.

    * Statistacally speaking, Motorola is the cheapest made phones you can buy, followed by Audiovox / UTStarcom, this is not just my opinion.
** Statistacally speaking, Samsung / Nokia are the most reliable phones you can buy, this is not just my opinion.

Hope I could be of help!

u didnt exactly answer his question...
slvr, thinner, same functionality as razr, but it has itunes

but i think the razr would have a better feel

u kno hwo the old ipods are well rounded but the new ipods r thin but have a color screen? kinda the same thing

razr feels better in the hand, lil bit biger than the slvr, but the slvr has itunes on it

if you want a durable phone

    id choose the razr
    Hey there!

I was trying to say that in the end, I would choose a different phone because of Motorola's reputation.

He said that he drops phones quite often and wouldn't want it breaking, I addressed this issue.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

My father works at a Sasktel Store in Sasktachewan (basically Bell in Sasktachewan!) I was told that by him. He said that Motorola and UTStarcom are the cheapest models they purchase, where as Samsung and Nokia usually charge more. Regarding the Nokia, he said that they don't have as many problems because not nearly as many of them are sold, so problems are less likely to show up.

Re: which phone? Razr V3 or SLVR L7?

I guess we all better listen to your father.....have you used the Razr or the Slvr?

if we go by Motorola's reputation then that would say the contrary, The Razr is one of the most popular phones on the globe, that's not accomplish by manufacturing a cheap phone.

I would go with the SLVR. It is a little lighter than the RAZR and it has a Mp3 player with removable memory.

    Slvr here.

After buying 2 Razrs....oops make it 3., I dont' like em.

THEY'RE TOO WIDE. Slvr is where it's at. Mind you I'll probably only carry that around in my breast pocket on evenings or the like. I can't see it lasting long in my daily routine. I'm too rough.

I just bought a SLvr a month ago and I love it. There are so many good things it has. The only thing I don't like is that I can't transfer I-tunes I have into ringtones.

Re: which phone? Razr V3 or SLVR L7?

Goodness sake! Don't you guys ever read up on your fave phones?

FYI the V3 is probably the toughest phone you can buy; Motorola's design brief was to address all strength issues caused by making the (then) thinnest flip phone on the market. In doing so they made it nearly bomb-proof.

The chassis is aircraft-grade aluminium. The display is fronted by toughened scratch-resistant glass and the keypad is laser-cut from a tough nickel alloy. Admittedly, I bought it primarily for the looks, but these facts were the icing on the cake.

So I'm afraid in this case Moto most definitely *haven't* gone for a "cheap" design - quite the opposite, and they are selling them at a loss mostly (mine was a free upgrade offer).

That is not the v3, it's the v3i and it's not commercially available yet, only through indepedent cell phone shops.
