Simple question....
can the Razr V3 (Cingular)
a) record using the speaker and use for ringtone?
or
b) used shortened mp3 files directly from a computer as a ringtone?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Razr mp3 ringtone?
I'm pretty sure you can't use recordings as ringtones. Have you heard of MPT(Mobile Phone Tools)? It is a software that lets you cut out a part of a song on your computer, then with a USB, transfer it to your phone.

Re: Razr mp3 ringtone?
I just picked up MPT 4.0 at Amazon.com for about $15 (including shipping).

Re: Razr mp3 ringtone?
I'll definitely have to look into this, thanks guys. A few more days until my Razr arrives.
And you say you can edit any mp3 file on your computer down to 30-35 seconds to use for a ringtone? That's pretty cool, and exactly what I'm looking for.

Re: Razr mp3 ringtone?
Try and get as many as you can down to like 20-25 secs, so that your phone can store more.

Re: Razr mp3 ringtone?
And make sure you drop the bit rate down to like 64 kbps. You can make them 96, but I wouldn't go any higher than that, or the files will be very large, and your phone won't be able to store as many. Besides, the speakers in most phones aren't of the highest quality, and won't take advantage of a super high quality mp3 (128 kbps and higher).
