When you are in camera view, press the menu key. Scroll down to Pictures Setup and press select, then scroll down to Shutter Tone and press change. Change the shutter tone to None. That should do it!

My service provider is Bell Mobility.
Why, do you suppose that could be the problem? Or you just suggest i call them up?

Well some service providers cripple certain features on the phones that they carry. Is the RAZR a V3 or V3c? In other words, is Bell Mobility a GSM or CDMA provider?

The phone I was refering to was my own personal RAZR V3, not a V3c(the one that you have), which may not have the "None" shutter tone option. There are a few members here who have the V3c, who may be able tell if their phone has the option or not.

Your version of the Razr was made that way, cell manufacturers are strating to make camera phones without the option to mute sounds for security purposes.

    Re: Motorola Razr camera help!

Verizon did include the "none" option, at least in it's early software releases.

Tony, as usual, is right. Some providers seem to be writing this feature out of their software releases for security purposes. It allows the people being photographed (usually without their knowledge) to have some warning. More and more places (Government buildings, gym locker rooms, etc.) are prohibiting cell phones with cameras for security and privacy purposes, and the service providers are feeling the pressure to assist with compliance.

Sorry frenzy, it sounds like you might be out of luck. The only option for you would be to adjust the volume on your phone when you are taking pictures... of whatever or whoever you don't want to hear the shutter sound.
