I went on a 2 hour searching spree through these enormous forums :P and came up with little help with my following question. I'm in search for the best method to use to buy a Motorola Razr v3 for prepaid service. Whether it be by a certain carrier or some other unknown method I would like to know if anyone has any experience in this field. If not that's ok, thanks anyways. Let me know if you need any info to make my inquiry not so general.

You can buy an unlocked Razr from E-Bay or any indpendent cell phone shop and use it with any GSM prepaid service.

Re: Prepaid RAZR v3
Thx for the fast reply Tony! I heard about your suggestion but was alittle unclear if it applied to me and my situation. About your suggestion about buying an unlocked phone from ebay, I know how some seller word things differently. Since I'm inexperienced in this area could you possibly give me some suggestion on what to look for, what tricks to watch out for, and maybe the average price for a legit phone? Thx again for your time.

Re: Prepaid RAZR v3
Just make sure the phone is branded to the prepaid service you're gonna be using with, for example, if you're going to get prepaid service from Cingular you're ok to use a Cingular branded Razr, if you want to be able to use the Razr with any prepaid carrier including oveseas, then make sure it's unlocked.
The average price for Razr are from $150-$250, you just need to shop around.

Re: Prepaid RAZR v3
Ok, so if I just get an unlocked one (even though I have no intentions of using over seas) just make sure it has the brand of service I want already on it? I probably misinterpreted it. All I know is I don't want to be spending the outrageous retal price of 250$ all the services are asking for, when I know I can save a few bucks and maybe make out in other ways using EBay. Thx again.

Re: Prepaid RAZR v3
There is a lot to be said for buy a new phone vs a used one. Mainly in getting a replacement should it stop working the day after you open the package. But if replacing a phone isn't a worry for you, then by all means pick up a used one.
