I am new to this site..but Ive had MANY problems with phones..I wish I could have found these forums sooner.
I currently have a Nokia 3220, with a AT&T SIMcard. My phone says CINGULAR on the display screen, so I thought my SIM card would work in a Cingular phone.
My cousin brought over a black RAZR phone, and I LOVE them. I put my SIMcard in the RAZR and it said osmething like "enter subsidy code" or osmething close to that. I didnt know what that meant, so I put in the password that I use to check my voicemail..and that didnt work. Then it said "contact service provider"
I dont know what I should do about this. Is this phone locked?
ANY help would really be appreciated.

Re: RAZR and SIMcard help
If you're using an AT&T sim card it will not work because Cingular locks their phones, you will need to get it unlocked.

Re: RAZR and SIMcard help
Assuming the Razr is Cingular branded and you have had an active account with them for no less than 90 days you can get an unlock code from Cingular.
If not you can go to an independent cell phone shop and get it unlocked for about $20.
