Re: moto razor v3i
After it tries to initialize for awhile (how long I know not) it will take you to a dedualt screen where you will be able to do all the set-up options. Just start up mpt plug in your cable when prompted and wait........... keep waiting ............. and finally you should see a phone ( won't look like yours) and you will see the intializing for a few min then you'll be able to mess with the set up. Unless someone else knows of an easier way this is how I got my original V3 to work.

Re: moto razor v3i
Ok did a little looking and found a possible solution (an easy one I hope) from what I found your phone (the v3i) is the one with a sd card, if this is correct then you should have a setting in your settings folder menu on your phone called "connections" if you go to there and change usb setting to memory card and plug it in it should be reconized as a removable device (if you formated the card) and you can go there and download all your ringtones pics etc. to your phone in their resective folders. Hope this works good luck!!

Re: moto razor v3i
1. I understand that you installed MPT. But what version? Did you make sure that it is up-to-date. You should have the latest version. I think some of the earlier ones like 3.x dont have drivers for Razr.
2. You may have to run the live update a few times to reach the latest version 4.2.1b. Live update can run even without setting up a phone. In fact the software should check for updates when you start up MPT.
3. After that try to connect your phone. It should not find all the drivers and recognize your phone. Connect the phone after you start MPT and it tells you to connect the phone. If you already have it connected before you start MPT, sometimes windows wont recognize and you may have to unplug and replug the phone to the usb cable.Last edited by MotoFan; 08-14-2006 at 10:32 PM.

Re: moto razor v3i
If you do have a recent version and are still having this problem, when you try and reinstall the drivers point it to your mpt folder. I've seen this problem with nextels, and sometimes with moto's but usually it corrects itself after an update. If all else fails do a complete uninstall (I know you prob already have) and redownload the program from the free stuff fro your moto thread, and reinstall, after installing it should promt you to do a auto update if not you've tracked down part of the problem, also I noticed I had a hard time because my firewall was on (try disabling it, before you download and reinstall) Also I hate to ask now after all this time but what version of windows are you running and do you have any tracking programs running in the background?

Re: moto razor v3i
Thank you everybody for your replies...
- I installed MPT from a source ver. 3.5 and after instalation I updated it to the latest version which is 4.2.1a.
- Griffzan, I already uninstal and reinstal the program many times before without any success.
- concerning the firewall I disable it when I start MTP, which is mean it be disabled when I am connecting my phone.
- I am using windows 2000 SP4.
- I don't have any tracking program running in the background.
if you have a look on the photos I posted, it is clear that the phone is installed correctly but there is a problem in the usb driver, did you niticed this.

Re: moto razor v3i
Yes I did see this, thats why when asking for the drivers I wanted you to point it to your mpt folder, I may also have some bad news, I am going to do some searching regarding mpt and windows 2000/me

Re: moto razor v3i

Re: moto razor v3i
of course I always refer to "C:\Program Files\Motorola Phone Tools\Inf" which contain the drivers.
about windows 2000, MPT "read me" file says it is compatible with windows 2000.
what thread which you like me to see???

Re: moto razor v3i
If you install MPT, you dont need P2K. I have only MPT installed and it works like a charm. My OS is windows XP.
