Ok I just bought a motorola v3c razr off of ebay.
Its the cdma version. I went out to have it programmed at my local u.s. cellular. He told me i had the right phone and everything but it wouldnt work because it was pre-programed for verizon wireless. The phone is unlocked ik that because he told me. He said it wouldnt work because it didnt reconize any of the towers and would always be roaming costing me money. Does any1 no how to get it off of roaming so i can use it with us cellular????

Ok, first of all... the V3c is a CDMA-only phone, there is no other version available. Second, because it is CDMA, it can not be "unlocked", only GSM phones have that ability.

Second, the only way to make a Verizon phone work with any other service provider would be to flash the phone with the new service provider's firmware. Unfortunately, if the new service provider doesn't offer the V3c, they will not have a firmware flash available.

Unfortunately, you fell into the trap that too many new cell phone users do, you didn't do enough research before buying a phone on eBay. A slick auction ad led you to believe something that just wasn't true. The only recourse you have now is to sell the phone off like quertyman suggested.

great info, also with 2... VZW puts there own OSs on the phone for it to be universial across all phone that the user picks up. This causes a problem when you want to use a VZW phone with a different Carrier. Just not possible if less like he said you flash it with there firmware.
