Problems Setting-Up My Razr V3

I just got my Razr V3. I am having trouble setting-up the phonebook. When I type-in the numerals, 1-555-1234 for instance, I get 15551234. I cannot get dashes or even spaces; only numerals can be typed-in. The manual is of no help. Can anybody help? I'm not too happy also that the outside display cannot be seen, so it's hard to tell if the Razr is working until I open the cover.

Is there some reason that you want the dashes?? You dont need them when you make a call. It will still dial the number.

Are you saying that there is no way to add the dashes or skip a space? Could I substitute a star for the dash or will that screw-up the number? I like the look of a long number with either spaces or dashes. I know that the number will still get dialed.

A star (*) will not work.

There is no way to get the dashes put in there, the phone does not need them to dial and therefore Moto didn't deem it necessary to put them in.

No...you cannot put in star's or dashes or any other character as the phone will not know what to do with them and therefore won't be able to dial the number.

As for the outside display, you don't need to open the phone to see if it's on or not, just press one of the outside button's

Re: Problems Setting-Up My Razr V3

Strange that my old Moto phone, V300, automatically places the dashes when I type-in the phone numbers. It also shows almost 10 phone numbers at once without having to scroll. With the Razr, I must scroll. The old models, although not as attractive or slim, seem to have more useful features.
