'Bought a Razr V3 for daughter but didnt want to pay the $30 extra to Verizon just for the pink color(got the silver). I have found several complete faceplate/skin sets, (front, back, batt and mike covers) on eBay, example: HOT PINK Cell Phone Skins Faceplate Housing For V3 Razr (item 330056135818) and need to know how difficult is it to replace before I order one. I found the vinyl ones too but not want daughter wants..
Thanks,

If you bought it from Verizon then that one won't fit.

Re: Difficult changing Razr V3 faceplate/skins?
Does it matter that the skin you listed is for a 3c? I have just the 3m model.. Thanks for the listing!

Re: Difficult changing Razr V3 faceplate/skins?
No, it doesn't matter that the item listed by Nate is for the V3c, because they are the same phone (...more or less). The V3c/V3m are CDMA versions of the Razr. The V3/V3i/V3x/V3t/V3r are GSM versions of the RAZR. There is a slight difference in size between the CDMA and GSM versions. This means that the faceplates are not interchangeable, no matter what some sleazy mall kiosk salesperson tells you (sorry... didn't mean to go off on a rant).

I ordered a V3M off of eBay, and I ordered a Blue housing for it, my question is will this void the waranty? If it breaks could I just switch it back and then bring it into Verizon?

Re: Difficult changing Razr V3 faceplate/skins?
Nate, as soon as you unscrew the first housing screw, and open that phone up, you have voided your warranty.

How would the Verizon wireless store know if I switched it back? Lol.

Re: Difficult changing Razr V3 faceplate/skins?
Paul,
I'm looking at getting one of the kits from the faceplate guy you listed for my v3m.. can I change just the front and back covers for my kids phone or do I have to change the rest of the frames(buttons, hinge caps) too?
Second question has to do with the v3m and music.. I got a 1gb micro SD card for my v3m from Frys Electronic($34), copied some of my music onto it using the SD adapter in my computer, but not only does it not play on my phone, it tends to freeze up and only multiple CLR, or EXIT gets it back to the main screen. Do I HAVE to get the multimedia kit from Verizon to get it to play music or is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a specific folder I have to put the music in? I also copied some jpg's onto it for wallpapers but couldnt get to them, so I'm guessing they also have to go into a specific folder?
Thanks,

Re: Difficult changing Razr V3 faceplate/skins?
As far as the faceplates go, yes you could do that, and as far as music goes, is it in wma format?

Re: Difficult changing Razr V3 faceplate/skins?
The phone will play MP3 and WMA files. Make sure that you put the music files into the "my_music" folder, and the pictures in the "my_pix" folder. f you have done this, it is most likely that you have a defective phone.

According to the chat person on VZW.COM it only uses WMA. I thought that that was one of the most benifical things of the Chocolate.
