I've owned my razr for 3-4 years now. It has worked great, but recently it has been having some problems. About a month ago, it started to drop the network for small amounts of time usually 3-5 min. My location wouldn't change and it would go from full bars to no bars instantly. Over time it lasted longer and became a real annoyance. I called my carrier, Celluar One, and they told me they would talk to cingular since they had some deal where they would use their towers. I don't know what they did but it worked.
A few nights ago, my phone started acting very weird. I would put the phone in my pocket and when I took it out to use it it would be off. I turned it on and it was fine. It had plenty of battery left so that wasn't it. Later that night, I tried to use it and it was completely unresponsive. Both screens were blank and the only thing that happened is the keypad would shimmer weakly every 6-7 seconds for about one second. I took the battery out and left it for about 30 min. Then I charged it overnight. When I woke up it turned on and everything was fine except it will not connect to a network at all. Also it seems to consume 4-5x more power than normal.
I contacted my carrier and they said they would check into it. Nothing happened after a few days and so they sent me a new SIM card to try. That hasn't help and now the only choice seems to be to replace the phone.
I haven't modded it or attempted to. It has never come in contact with water . I found instructions online on how to take apart and clean it but I don't have the tools and wouldn't trust myself to anyways. I here hoping to find alternatives because I can't really afford a new phone right now.
Any help is much appreciated.

i would think its your network...phones shouldn't do that, unless you are placing it different or going into a building, it could be the built in antenna, the only option is probably to exchange phones
