I'm having trouble getting Bitpim to work with my RAZR (Verizon). I downloaded this driver and my phone appears in the Device Manager, but BitPim won't work on the auto setting or with COM1. How do I get it to work? Is there any other software I can use?

    Re: Bitpim problems

I tried, but Mobile Phone Tools, never let me manually install the phone. It just gave me a prompt saying that it won't work if I don't install a phone, asked if I wanted to installed one now, and after I couldn't get anything to install I clicked no and it opened the program. Multimedia was grayed out and I couldn't use it.

Do you have a formatted media card in the phone?

No. I wanted to access the filesystem with BitPim so that I could exchange pics and ringtones between my phone and computer.

    Re: Bitpim problems

These are from the Verizon Forum
    Try this:
    i just downloaded audacity
cut a mp3 to less than 30 seconds
    saved the selection to mp3
emailed it to myself [email protected]
    open and saved as ringtone
    sq is perfect
and music essentials kit/micro SD are not needed

    or this:
D/L BitPim. Go to google and search for it and download the latest one. It wont be hard to find. when you do that, plug your phone into the computer and let BitPim find it, then use the ringtone selection to find your sound clips

Also is there a USB/serial setting in the options? select USB
(I dont have this phone, carrier, nor software...I'm just guessin and searching other threads)

Costs money though. Plus I tried it on another phone I had with Verizon, and it won't let you get or send the music file if it's too big.

I've got the latest version. The options let you choose between auto and any available ports, but nothing worked.

unless you BOUGHT mpt, it probably wont work, only Version 4+ works with razrs too, so just just p2k commander, PST, motokit and a series of others to do the jobs, it worked for me

Top seem edit, that site also has the seem-edit program you need plus more
