I have a RAZR V3 (I think its a V3) with AT&T/Cingular. About 2 months ago, the phone started going dead at random times. The phone could be fully charged, and then several hours later, it would be dead, and the only way I could get it back would be to charge it from a 120V wall charger. It would not charge in the car.
Based on what I can see, the battery does not drain all the way down. This occurs with full charge bars, and always occurs when I am NOT using it. The phone is either in my pocket or sitting on a table when it dies, but it never dies when I am using it.
Figuring it might be the battery, I bought a new battery on ebay. This did not fix the problem. I took the phone to a mall Cingular store, and the guy acted like I was the first person to have this problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: My RAZR randomly dies (with full charge)
dunno if this is considered necro'ing but i know what's wrong with the phone.
It's a phone defect. Nothing you can do yourself to fix it. I went through four of them, before i got one that works correctly. if you have insurance, or are still under warranty, have them replace it. they(AT&T/Cingular) know it's a defect, so they will replace it. if not, threaten legal suits for sales fraud or something.
just cause i can, here's a list of the razr's i went through(all of them are a V3)
black x 3 <-- *sniff* the first one was my favorite...
blue x 1
silver x 1
silver = current
If at all possible, get some different kind of Moto. maybe the V3XX's. i haven't had a chance to try those yet. or a L6/L7 slver.
