#1 | | Junior Member | Well I just recently got my first cell phone. In fact, it was just last week and I happened to get the V3m. I've noticed that there isn't an option to change the external screen display. I was wondering if there was a software update that my fix this. So far, the phone's been pretty good, but the software isn't that great. I went to the verizon store today to see if I can return the RAZR and get something else, and I could, but the rep told me that I have 30 days to return it and that they're going to have some promotions on Thanksgiving Day. At this point, if there isn't a software update I might just go in on Thanksgiving and get another phone.

I believe on a KRZR I played with, it was under dis...I'll grab the phone and look. Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Display Settings -> Wallpaper -> Front Screen. That should allow you to change the wallpaper for the external screen. Menu -> Settings & Tools -> Display Settings -> Screensaver -> Front Screen should allow you to change the screensaver. As for the software upgrades, if there is an update available, they should be able to do it in store (unfortunately, the v3m doesn't support Over-The-Air software updates, least to my knowledge).

#3 | | Junior Member | Well I go to Tools & Settings > Display > Wallpaper, but it just has the picture option and no front screen option. Then when I look at the options for the pictures, I get Take new pix or Get new. I'm guessing you simply can't change the front screen. Hopefully, on Thanksgiving, they'll have the Gleam, Juke, or Chocolate for a lower price. Either that, or I might have to use their test drive feature and switch to another carrier... Hopefully they still do it.

The Gleam is a pretty nice device (although it does seem like a fingerprint magnet to me). If you are really into music, either the Juke or the Chocolate would work (I'd personally go for the Chocolate, you get EvDO+VCast+a larger screen).
