Because you are using an unlocked device, you will need to configure the phone in order to allow for data and SMS to work properly.Two options that I see that you have available to resolve this issue are:
1) Contact your service providers tech support, and have them manually configure the settings for you. You could also check the I-wireless website, to see if they have a device configurator that will send the correct settings directly to your handset.

2) Send the configuration settings for Internet, MMS, and Video to your phone from Motorola's website:
