VE20/Text Msg/Email

I don't know if I just did not use the right search string or terms so I hope this is not a repost. However I am sure that there are others besides me that have had this issue or do have this issue.

I have a US Cellular Motorola VE20, I like the phone, I have 2 issues I can not figure out, if I am sent a text msg/ IE; from Google for the Google iGoogle Mobile page, I get the text but I can not highlite and open the link. If I receive the same message in an email using the mobile email client I still can not open the link. It will not let me even click on it. Is this an issue with US Cellular or is an option that is not available on this phone?

I have talked with the techs at US Cellular, they say it is not possible. I am thinking it is not possible with us cellular as I know that the Sayno I had with Sprint did do it. So don't tell me it can't.
