v400 data kit

im thinking about getting the data kit but am not able to decide whether i want it or not... as far as i know i can transfer pics over to my computer and download ringtones and backgrounds apps and games etc onto my phone and it costs $50 bucks for the data kit i think its worth it but i want to know what the risk of getting a virus from my computer onto my phone is? we have an antivirus program and i get my phone files from www.vstuff.co.uk is that site safe?

I have a v300 and two different data manager packages. I use them mostly to download my photos. I cannot access my game files with either package, I believe this is Motorola's version of copy protection. I suppose there probably a way, maybe someone will help us with a suggestion. Good luck!
