I'm considering my first phone.
Various members of my family have been with T-Mobile for up to two years now and they have all had bad experiences. The customer service, quite frankly, sucks.
My mother is stuck with them for another eight months and as she is my only long distance call, I am considering going with T-Mobile and then finding another provider. If I change services in a year will the phone I buy now be transferrable? Can I just get a sim card from the new provider to put into the V600 if I buy that?
TIA.

If the phone is unlocked then yes, otherwise you would have to get it unlocked which voids the warranty.
