Motorola V400 (Mobile Phonetools)

Hopefully someone here can help me with this... I've downloaded and installed Mobile Phonetools and the drivers needed for my v400. The problem I'm having is that I can't transfer ringtones or pictures to my phone, but I can do everything else like sync my calendar and phonebook and manage my message inbox.. etc.

I open the multimedia center window and nothing is shown in the mobile phone window to the right and when I right-click on a file and click transfer to mobile phone, nothing happens. The root folder button is also greyed out to where I can't click it. So I gave up on that and downloaded the Snapmedia software to see if I would have better luck with it, but no luck there either.
Most I've gathered from this is that it may be the USB cord that I'm using, which says it's for Futuredial software and has the black box in the middle and people have said that it only works with Futuredial software, but I can't even get it to work with Snapmedia..

Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

the futuredial cable will not work to transfer media files. only manage the sim. someone please correct me if im wrong. try getting the regular cable (the one without the box on it) from your service provider or online. since you already have mpt you dont need to buy the package with both.
