I haven't personally had this problem but a few of my friends have, first what type of OS are you running and what version, second what phone tools did you download?

It seems to be a problem with the usb drivers, for some reason you have to install them first before connecting your cable. Remove the device from your hardware profiles and try that (if you haven't already) let me know if that fixes it.

someone suggested on howard forums that i should uninstall everything. Then install p2kman without my phone plugged in, when its done installing i should plug it in and direct it to the folder with p2k drivers. should i?

Let windows do the search for best driver, if it doesn't find it then try that (only because if you point it to the wrong driver file it my take longer than nessassary (sp)

Before posting, i uninstalled a few times and it searched for drivers, but couldnt find any so the driver installation was sorta corrupt and canceled half way.. so i will try the p2k method and see how it goes

When you first hooked up your cable to your phone did it tell you it found a new device?

Go to your control panel and system, device manager and look for a di=evice with a ! next to it or a usb modem or something that has your phone model # next to it (find the=at and let me know what it says)

none of the devices with the usb icon have a v300 model driver, nor do ANY of my other devices.

is this strange? should i plug in the usb end of the motorola cable and wait a minute for it to detect it? and am i supposed to install the p2kman b4 the detection of the v300 or after?

right now everything is uninstalled
