Listening to ringtones help

i have a i730, and im not sure what i did, but now when i go into ringtones and highlight a tone it doest play, but i can hear it when the phone is closed and i hit up/down on the volume keys. What did i do?

nothing mine does that on ringtones that I have loaded as well. as long as they work when the phone rings I would not worry about it.

Press the soft key under play.
Wait... does that series have that?

I'm so confused...

no play option, but i am pretty sure it has something to do with th vibe and ring. When i took it off vibrate and ring and set it just to ring the tones play fine.
