I have read thru the posts and guess maybe I am the only one that has thought this thought. If not then please send me to the appropriate place.
I have a Motorola T731C phone that is supposed to be GPS enabled. My question is: if I purchase the USB cable, can I get the phone to transmit GPS data to my laptop? If that is possible then I could port that data into Mappoint or Streets and Trips and avoid having to purchase a seperate GPS unit.
I have read about the GPS requirement that the FCC has put on Cell companies and it looks like they are required to put in a GPS that should be adequate to provide location info for the software. I also see that there are companies offering tracking of cell phones. I am wondering if anyone has experimented with this or am I just dreaming foolish dreams.
I stand ready to be tutored, corrected or ridiculed at your discretion.
