#1 | | Junior Member | So for quite sometime now, I have been going crazy for the mp3 ringtone stuff. I just bought my v551.... and I am so sick of the one ringtone I have. I just bought Motorola mobileTools, and.... I dont know. I cant upload the mp3s I have even by shortening the file (says unrecognized format, or something like that, dont remember), so I am sure I have to modify it a lot more. Please, I have all these songs I want to put on my phone, please help me out. How can I get my regular mp3 songs to my phone?

#2 | | Daderator | I don't have much experience with the new 551, but have you tried to rename the format from .mp3 to .mid?
That works for almost all other phones. I don't know if your phone is like my V710, but it does support .mp3.
If your having problems still, head to my site and click on load ringtones onto your phone and follow the instructions there and see if that helps any. My Site

#3 | | a.k.a - Kinjutsu11 | when you shortened the song you have to make sure the bit rate and other specs of the mp3 file are compatible with the v551, the same ringtones used for other moto phones will work on your phone, there are plenty on bossdragon's site, and some on griffzan's site which is in the ringtones section of the forum
