Mobile Phone Tools Won't Stop Initializing With Moto V220

I got a cable from Walmart for my Motorola V220 cellphone to hook it to a computer so I can take my pics off the camera & download them to a computer & then floppy disks, cd roms etc.. It seems to be the right one to work with it.

I downloaded off a site on the internet the Mobile Phone Tools so I could take the pics off the camera & put them on computer & floppies & cd roms etc & also put some ringtones on the phone. I installed it & I it installed fine. I clicked on the icon for it & it brings the program up fine. It seemed to install my phone. But it won't let me do anything on it after that. It says on the program initializing & that doesn't seem to stop. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any info experts. This has me stumped...

Yes I had the same trouble with my V262. You will most likley have to try updating MPT from 3.1 to 3.25. Hope it helps

Thanks for the help ya'll! I am happy & pleased to report I got it going. But it was a real bear to do. I figured out the problem was the driver for the V220 wasn't installed. I had no idea how to install it form a download cuz when I clicked on the download of it what came up was a bunch of text. So I had to look up online to find out how to install it correctly. It turns out you go to control pannel then system & click on device manager etc. And that installed it.

When I tried to run mobile phone tools it tried to find my phone & said there was no driver listed for the V220. I remember that I had read somewhere online that if that happens you can choose a driver for the v600 & ti will work with that. So I did that.

What happened was:

MOBILE PHONE TOOLS:

Goes to BVRP live update.

Tries to start up then comes up with an error message. Says Win Inet error code 12007. I click the okay button. It gives an error message so I hit cancel. It comes up with a choose a profile so I choose the default one hitting okay. Mobile Phone Tools comes up. & comes up as a pic icon of a phone. If ya know what I mean. Click on the top middle button of the phone then click on the thing that will bring up tools then from that, then click on multimedia center. It brings up multimedia center. Click on the folder icon for picture. Your pics will show up...

I have to do all that each time I wanna download pics from the pheon or upload pics or ringtones to it. But hey it works even if it's alot of trouble to use. Hopefully what I figured out how to do it will help out someone else with the same problem.

Here iare some pics I took with my cellphone:

Try to get a copy of mpt 3.0 or higher. I have v180 and it works fine.
