Im new and need some help.

Hello I have a motorola v710 and I was looking into the scandisk memory card with the adaptor. I was wonder if that is what i need to get mp3 ringers withought paying for them I saw this one guy he put the scan disk into my phone and gave me alot of stuff he said he plugs it into the computer and downloads it into there ? So what im asking is how you get ringers and wallpaper and even games ?

Also is there any stores that sell the wires like a cell phone place I rather pick it up then I can plug it in to my computer. Do I need the software ?
