New to ringtone composing.
Used Audicity to cut a 15 sec. piece out of a song from a CD.
Followed instructions from forum to cut bitrate, mono, etc. etc.
Used [email protected] to send to phone but two things happen.
1. It's real distorted. (as if overpowering speaker)
2. It's showing as a AMR file.
This was only a test but not sure where I went wrong?
suggestions please,

Followed instructions @ http://www.ninetoez.com/moto/maketones.html
but not sure how to turn down loudness.
Is that why the mp3 is being converted to an AMR file?
I've tried several different setting and need to give up, no telling what this is costing in transport fees!!!!
All I'm looking for is a ringtone for New York Minute and Hotel California.

What do you mean "not so".
I also notice that not only is the mp3 being converted to an AMR file, the bitrate is 8!!

I make my own and dl them through t-zones and lswing there's really not a whole lot you can do other than get your cable and start downloading ringtones with mpt It's just that they want to milk more money out of you and not letting you e-mail ringtones is just ONE of the was.

Thanks for the info. I received an e-mail for Moto and they say it's the MMS service from cingular.
As a test, I purchased a Mp3 ringtone from Cingular and it came through OK as a 84 kp @ 64 kbps but too soft to really hear but at least it worked.
