I've worked for a cell phone company for 5 years. When I started Motorola was the best. Over the past three years they have become the worst. I will not sell a motorola product unless the customer leaves with it knowing they will have problem's. About 50% of all Motorola phones sold in our area are sent in for repair within the one year of purchase. 80% of those are charging problems. As a comparision about 5% of Nokia phones go in for repair within the same time frame.

I never had any problems charging my Timeport P8090, Timeport P8197, v60t, v600, HS820 or any of the three v2397's I've owned so which models are you referring to?

V60,t720,t731,v810,e310. The t731 being the worst with the charging problems. I called Motorola about this three times. They clame that know one else has complained about this problem. The fact is I;ve sent in around 100 Mto's for this problem alone just this year.

i've used Moto phones for about 11 years now and i've never had a charging problem with any of them, maybe one home charger from a v60i where the cord got spliced but nothing more.

Me either, every once in awhile I get a unable to charge but thats only because I don't connect the charger all the way

I think maybe the issue is people aren't careful enough when plugging in their charger. I know that if they just jam it in there every night it's going to mess it up eventually. Not to say that some problems with the chargers aren't releated to manufacturer defect but none of the people that I know with the little two-prong charger have had any issues.

I think 5yearcellguy was means that either the phone doesnt charge or an "unable to charge" message appears...i could be wrong though.

5yearcellguy-
I have to agree with you, I used to work for tmo and had >100 people complaining that after plugging the charger (v60,v300) it would not respond to the normal icon change to charging, or after charging for an x amount of time it would stop charging and the battery would not be fully charged... I personally had this experience with different v300 models... i bought two and had them swapped out because of this problem... my first one failed on me 3 times and then was given a samsung e317 which is a great little phone... the other one i've had swapped out once because of this...
i've recently bought a razor because of cosmetics and hopefully it will not sufer the same... nokias are great lasting phones (except for the 8890 model it sucked)...

I’m a believer… My Moto with the standard charge connecter witch is on most of there current Moto phones, is worn out. Verified with the guy at the Cingular store that’s was not both of my car/wall chargers. The usb data cable is getting the charge job done for now. This happened just short of the one year warranty… Keep is mind, that phone use is very high, I’ll do a full drain/charge everyday, sometimes two… FYI on the Moto MPX 220… Very impressed, that’s the only glitch on this phone, not bad…
