I use the BH-1000 blue tooth handsfree unit. This I believe is a cheaper solution.
No problem in setting up, just followed the instructions and had them paired in a few minutes. I asked my retailer to give me the motorola unit, but asked for more money. But no problems with the BH-1000 so far.

I got it from my retailer for $25. If you are in the US, my retailer can mail one to you.

Got a Motorola HS850, works fine, but it would have been cool to listen to a mp3 ringtone than listen to a ring all the time, because somehow, my Bluetooth can not play mp3's and certain ringtones... only 'alert' ringing tones.

I have the Scala unit with the BT adapter and it scares me. My head hurts when I use it.

I have an 850 also. Moto phones will only play alert tones if the headset is connected. You can however use it to listen to mp3s from the computer while you are messing around the house. Of course you need a dongle.

How much did you get the dongle for? It's that disk and little accesory thing that connects your phone to your computer wireless, right?

you can get a dongle anywhere, you dont have to get the software if you dont want it. I decided to go ahead and get the mpt set.

You can pick up USB BlueTooth Wireless Adapter Dongles at Ebay for under 20 bucks shipped.
Click here for dongles on ebay. If buying one up there just keep an eye on the shipping charges cause some of the vendors seemed to have gotten carried away with it.

Oh man... I'm a little confused... If I use a BTHS will my phone ring with my custom ringtone or will it divert to the alert ones as discussed previously... that would really, I mean REALLY suck...

your v3 when paired with any headset will divert to a stock ringtone, not your custom one. They are working on finding a solution.
