Hi, I have a 1991 Model car, which when new, came with a motorola car phone installed. It was originally programmed with one number, and then reprogrammed with another when the car was first sold. When I got hold of it, I decided to get the phone working again, and using the Serial and ESN i got out of the little phone book in the car, got a new number setup with our anolog service provider.
I programmed it, and figured out that it was the wrong Serial and ESN. I got the correct ones, and got another number setup. Unfortunitely, the phone is not responding to my programming attempts.
I have read that the phone has a limited number of times it can be programmed, which I believe to be three... which it has now reached. There appears to be no one at motorola or the car manufacturer who knows how to get around this any more.
Is there a way to reset the phone to complete factory defaults, or at least remove the programming bar currently in place?
Thank you in advance,
Lostboy

Even if you did reprogram your car phone, why would you want to use that as opposed to a regular cell phone?

Its in the car, the provider here still supports it, reasonably cheaply, I was able to get the account setup free, and its a prepaid account, so i just put a $20 on it and it'll last for a while, plus, I'm a geek, and all that old stuff is cool.
