v188 and MPT usb driver

I have a v188 and a usb cord for it, but I have a .inf file that I read as the driver for the phone and I dont know where to install it. Any help on why MPT wont detect my phone or how to install a usb driver would be appreciated.

Also, I find it really annoying that the v188 constantly reminds me that my text messages are full. Is there a way that I can increase the amount of text messages it can hold (currently about 35 in both inbox and outbox) or that they can automatically override and delete old text messages as new ones arrive?

Try running the live update on mpt and you may be able to do a seem edit to get your text message prob fixed. try downloading p2k and checking motomodders.com for more info.

im just a beginner so please do excuse my questions. but do i have to have some sort of internet service plan to use MPT? when i tried to do the liveupdate, it asked me to set up an internet connection via GPRS or through my own account. it says that i need a username, password, and phone number that Tmobile would provide. I was under the assumption that I could just move files from my computer onto my phone via the usb cord. Is this incorrect?

i got mobile phone tools to show my phone (v188) but i cant transfer anything to it any help?
