It annoys me that my screen goes to off so quickly... hubby's v710 dims after about 20 seconds but remains visible for about a minute.
Can someone help me to configure mine this way?

Go to menu > settings > initial setup > scroll down to backlight change to 60 seconds > done.
BTW, you can also change your display timeout to 2 minutes while you're there....
just choose display timeout and change to 2 minutes.
keep in mind that the longer the lights stay on, the more battery power it will comsume.Last edited by Tony E!; 08-19-2005 at 06:19 PM.

You don't carry your phone with you? Or at least bring it in with you? I'd be lost if I didn't have my phones on me all the time or within hearing/seeing distance.

and no signal at the house ....
so why not leave it in the car for when I drive next. I've become quite good at texting the Sis-in-law on windy dirt roads... Watch out innocent deer!

No service at the house....wow that's terrible, so much for "can you here me now" i guess they missed a spot...
are there more options in that region?

nope.... useable Verizon signal ends about a mile from my house (I get 2 bars but cannot call in/out)... everyone else's is 10-30 miles away... Its the hilly terrain. Anyone who wants to know where I live just look at the Verizon coverage map and find the biggest white spot in PA. Get there and start asking for "Jeanie the music teacher," I guarantee you'll be in my kitchen within hours! ...
At least I can zip up to the convenience store (open 5AM to 10PM) when I wanna check my text messages... If I drank coffee I'd even have an excuse...
