what phone? If you have a moto, then no. The phone will default to the centennial ring tone when the headset is attached. You can however listen to ring tones in .amr format on the headset.

You get them on the phone the same way you do your mp3's. Then with the headset attached go the ring tone and play it. You should here it on the headset.

Does a ringtone play with a bluetooth car kit, like the Parrot 3100, or will it just play the ring?

Sorry I'm an idiot. That's what happens when you're posting about video and audio at the same time. The correct format is .amr! The tone will play on you headset but still won't play as a ring tone when you receive a call.

    Ring tones and Headset

That feature is certainly something I would like. I have all these nice MP3 as ringtones. INcluding some Elvis songs. DUH!!. But with the headset one all I get are the beeps. I would hope they would fix that or something.

I have a bluetooth as well but mine isn't a headset its more like the ones that just hook over your ear its a Plantronics explorer 220 I just found out that I could listen to recoreded ringtones that you make but it won't play as a ringtone through ear peice, is there a way to make it play ringtones?

Here it is 3 years later and nothing has changed. However, I have an ATT 8525. While the earpiece still only beeps, at least the phone now plays the ring tones. My Razr phone only beeped when the ear piece was connected.

I've got a verizon vx325i and it was a shock to me when I found information on recorded tones were playable on the bluetooth as long as i didn't set it as a ringtone i was fine I'm sure if my contact called me it wouldn't play through the tooth just on the phone itself, kind of dumb that i can't change the audio setting to make it play the tone o well i'm happy anyway but someone happend to find a way thats cool to i'll be happier than a drunk man on plant flaflooga.
