E815 Photo Transfer via USB

Before I even got my E815 I started looking for ways to unlock all of the features that Verizon cripples. I went the the following link and read about seem editing:

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=674803

At the risk of sounding like a dummy, that page only served to confuse me. From what I could tell you've got to download like a bunch of things and use them in tandem to unlock Bluetooth data transfer, most of which are hard to find and hard to use. You need Phone Service Tools, p2kseem SD, MPT 3.25b, and E815 XP Drivers. He's got a few links on there, but most of them are dead, and so are most of the links I've found when I Google for these things. Anyway, long story short, hacking my phone is a major pain in the ass and I don't want to mess with it. BUT ... I do have the fancy pants USB cable that the site said I would need. I ought to be able to transfer photos to/from my E815 using just the cable, right? How do I do that? Does the "seem" still have to be adjusted, or can I just get some driver or something and treat my phone like another drive, and drag and drop to and from it?

I know this is ridiculous, but have pitty on my poor, lazy soul. I don't need bluetooth. I just want to be able to transfer pics on and off my stupid phone ... and I've got this shiny USB cable. Help?

Thanks

Are you a Motorola newb/novice/expert?

phone service tools: is mainly for flashing your phone
p2kseem sd: any of the p2k programs is basically something like windows explorer for your phone.
MPT 3.33ish is the latest build MPT is the manufacturer program. Does pretty much all the average user will like their phone to do...considering the phone hasn't had features blocked, nor the software ITSELF been blocked on certain features.
drivers: yes you'll need drivers. You can d/l them anywhere. Motorola usb drivers is a good google.

you MAY need to specify e815...not sure. v300 (my first phone March '04) worked fine with the standard usb drivers, as did my v635 (sept. '05).

holla back.

you can skip the fancypants cable and go to www.vzwpix.com
register, upload your pics, send them to your number then save each one using the menu key center-top....

Or if you have the fancypants transflash card and a drive for your computer you can save them to the card via that drive... put the card in the phone... make a pix message to a fake number (555-555-5555) and send... the send will fail but you can then view the message in your outbox... as you see each picture hit the menu (top center) button and save it to your phone memory...

and I like the word "fancypants"
