ok i got a razr v3 and about 2 days ago i did the dumest thing eva, i left it in the gym locker nad i came back to seen it had been opened and my phone was gone. i have insurance for cingular so i got i knew one but i want to know is if they switch the sim card will it work for them.
Yea, if it is a locked Cingular RAZR then any Cingular sim card will work with it. That stinks about GSM phones, the service provider won't be able to lock them if reported lost or stolen.
So your saying if I had a Cingular sim card and I wanted to put it into a lost/stolen Cingular RAZR, I couldn't?
If they're cingular subscribers then they can just put their sim card in the razr and it will work, or any cingular phone. I dont know if notifying cingular would maybe "blacklist" the phone?
Thats what I was saying, but he said that Cingular can lock the phone where it can't be activated. I thought that since it was a Cingular GSM phone, any Cingular sim card that is already activated will work in it.

Yup, thats right. Maybe Cingular can "blacklist" if thats what they call it. So if the next person that might try to call them up and try to activate it wont be able to. But the thing is if the theif is a cingular subscriber he might be able to use the phone, even if cingular has the phone on their blacklist?...i dont know how they deal with that...Either way man, you were smart to get the insurance so don't sweat it...I just got my razr and i should get the insurance, if its not too late...
