#1 | | Junior Member | Has anyone used this software with there Motorola Phone yet?
What I want to do is try and get some music files I have on my computer into the phone via this software and use that song as a ringtone......I am trying to do that with my v505, is that even possible?
--Also, if anyone has personal experience please do share. *Instead of purchasing the cable can I use a BlueTooth USB Adapter? *And instead of purchasing the CD Software, can I just download these drivers and it will work? #2 | | I hate spammers! | I use the software to sync my phone book and calendar to Outlook on my computer. Unfortunately, I have Verizon Wireless and they seem to have locked out the ability to transfer ringtones and pictures to my phone from the computer.
As for your subsequent questions, I believe there is a post that I read on these forums regarding using bluetooth instead of the cable. Personally, I bought the cable and the software on eBay for less than $21.00, so I am not complaining (at least not about that...). Here is a post with a link to download the MPT 3.0 software.

#4 | | Newbie | Hello, I have a Cingular Razr and MPT and I use bluetooth to transfer ring tones, etc. It works fine and I can do it without having to take my phone out of the case. You can also use the software to get on the internet using the phone as a modem. I bought the software on E-bay. It was legitmate, official software. Unlike other software I have bought.

And also instead of purchasing the software can I download this? http://216.119.70.238/Download/Motor...odemDriver.zip
Would it work or not?
Thanks
Also how do you send ringtones to your phone, is there certain format the file needs to be in to be able to play on my phone?

The software you want is found in this forum: Mobile Phone Tools , graciously provided by Griffzan

And, also do the ring tones need to be in any special format to be able to be read on the web?
And, is there a program that you use or know of that I can upload my music file in there and shorten it a little bit?
THANKS ALOT FOR ALL YOUR HELP | | |

#10 | | Boom Truck Extraordinaire | If you are using a USB Bluetooth adapter, you shouldn't even need the MPT software. It should just show up in your Bluetooth places as a network drive.
As far as software goes to shorten songs into ringtones, Sony Sound Forge is a good one for cutting mp3's into short clips. But you can also use DBPowerAmp to convert mp3's int wav format, then shorten them with sound recorder, then use PowerAmp again to convert it back to mp3 format.
