I have searched through older posts with no luck. Maybe asking straight up will do the trick.
I bought mobile phone tools with a usb cable recently. Right out of the box, without running all updates, I was able to transfer a ringtone and wallpaper to my phone. Then it stopped working. I uninstalled the program, reinstalled it, ran all the updates (now at MPT 4.0.4), and I still cannot connect my phone.
It will allow me to open multimedia studio, but then my phone is not found when I try to transfer files.
I have also:
-Changed usb port slots
-Reinstalled drivers to find the usb cable
-Tried to find the phone through setup - general setup - communication - change modem - next - tried all 3 different modems that pop up through the auto detection method (Motorola USB Modem [correct one I assume], Lucent Win Modem, Motorola V. and Timeport Modem) - clicked do not auto detect device - and manually selected my phone.
I am at a lost. The phone description on my box is RAZR V3 BLACK GSM. The carrier is Cingular. I would very much appreciate any and all help that anyone could provide.
Thanks

Well, as soon as I posted this I got it to work. The solution? Turned my phone off and then back on. Like magic, I have a new ringtone on my phone.

When all else fails, turn the phone off and reboot the computer. But you found that turning off teh phone worked, so you're good to go!
