Hi,
I am thinking of buying a RAZR V3, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced any problems with this phone?
Alternatively if you have one, and would also recommend buying one, please tell me what you think of it.
Cheers

The V3 has a flawed design that allows dust and other debris under the faceplate, obscurring the screen in ambient light. But Motor will not fix the flaw - you have to live with it! DON'T GET ONE!

Hi Ranthony,
Thanks for the reply.
Do you know if the same is true about the V3i and V3x, or is this just a problem on the V3?

Based on what others have posted in other threads, it would appear that the dust problem may have been fixed. I can say from personal experience that there is no problem with the V3c, and if I am not mistaken, the i and x versions are based on that design.
Yes, people have had problems with dust in the V3, but Motorola has made efforts to fiz the apparent design flaw. Please do not make your purchase decision based on 1 VERY disgruntled user (19 out of 19 posts in these forums complaining about Motorola, T-Mobile and the dust in his screen).LG VX9900 (enV)

And please tell us all exactly, what efforts Moto has made to correct the design flaw? Hmmmm??? Sure I'm disgruntled. Wouldn't you too if you just shelled out almost $600 for flawed cell phones? TMo has no answers. Moto says to ship them back for a month-long repair. Why would you ship your phones back for a month? Hmmm??? Don't sell us another spin, just answer the questions.

To answer your question: I would send my phone back to Motorola, for the simple reason that Motorola offered to fix the problem. If it takes a month for them to resolve the issue, so be it. Your complaint is that Motorola will not fix the flaw, yet you say it yourself, they advised you to send it to them to be fixed.
So what is the problem?
You are stirring up a pot that needs not be stirred. Follow the manufacturer's instruction, get your phone fixed and move on.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Cunning Stunt - I apologize for hijacking your thread to deal with an issue that has perhaps boiled over from another thread. I have donated $100.00 CPF to you for the inconvenience. Good luck with your upcoming purchase and please let us all know how it works out. Keep contributing to the forums.Last edited by paulcman; 02-16-2006 at 05:25 PM.

Cunning,
like i mentioned on another thread, i've owned different Razrs and have yet to experience dust problems on my screen, also for those Cingular Razr users Cingular is aware of this issue and they are also working to replace handsets with this flaw.

Just to return your thread to sanity after the craziness.
I bought a Razr v3 from T-Mobile about 2 months age...my first mobile phone. So far I have had a great time with it...although I admit I am not as Tech savvy as a lot of the people here. I got it as part of a family plan deal where I also got my wife a Magenta one and we got them two for the price of 1. Reception is always good and I have not had a dropped call yet. Plus, the phone looks so cool to my friends who all got free or cheap phones.Hey Now!

Well thanks for that, it sounds like the good points outweigh the bad. I will certainly look into it. To be honest it is a choice between the Motorola V3 or the Nokia 8800.
Cheers Guys
