So, you're Razr get's good enough reception as any?

BTW, where is your antenna physically located on your Razr? Top, bottom, or all-over?

I like internal. With external you have the chance of breaking the antenna

But doesn't your hand cover the antenna & reduce your reception?

I said it depends, because the question is highly debated. Your reception with an internal antenna is affected more by the way you hold your phone because if your hand is covering the area of the intenna it will interfere with reception, but I've held one beside the other and they both have about the same reception as long as you hold the internal antenna the right way.

Wait a minute! I was going to link you to another thread where we had this discussion, but you started that thread also! Then, I was the one that took the topic into internal/external when I looked up your phone on phonescoop.com! haha, well for everyone else's benefit, here's the other thread.

I put it depends and I wanna give an example.

I haven't had much compliants about the moto pebl or razr as far as reception goes. However, anyone ever deal with a Siemens CF62T???

I believe the Razr's antenna is in the bottom. The little hump at the bottom which I dislike so very much :P

I have one with an external antenna, but have had them with internal ones in the past. I like internal antennas better. I don't notice any reception difference, and the lack of a protrusive antenna from the top of a phone makes it look more attractive, in my opinion.

i have been involved with radios for a long time ( a ham for about 10 years ) and an external antenna will always be a better choice and using it fully extended is best

with that being said it will still depend on the phone you are using . If it works fine for you being an internal antenna then no worries but if that phone is not offered with an external antenna then how could you compare them . So bottom line is if the antenna works for you great but if you are running into reception problems then you may need to find a phone with an external antenna to get the reception you need

Razr v3c Reception

I have the Motorola Razr v3c from Verizon and with it's internal antenna I get reception that's just as good as I've ever had with any of my phones that have external antennas.

I went 2 floors underground in an office building today with my Razr V3c and had no loss in signal strength or reception for over 20 minutes (all while moving around on that level)! My LG VX6100 with external antenna would have long since dropped that call.
