i870 & Sms question

I just switched from sprint over to nextel and ordered the i870, received yesterday and started to play with it after I got home from work..

I get a LOT of sms msgs..with my old phone (sanyo mm7400) i could receive them all day long, it would store the newest 200 and auto-delete the older ones after memory capacity was reached...i'm not quite liking this i870 when it comes to the way it handles sms's received..

I received 20, then got msg "text memory full", and now i have to manually delete sms's before my phone will intercept the new incoming sms msgs?

What's with this?! The phone has 32mb built in and then 32mb with the microsd (haven't had the phone long enough to justify getting the 512 card yet..), tell me there is a way to change how it handles sms msgs..

TIA

i would suggest looking in your user manual....NEXTEL phones suck for texting....T9 Text Entry and memory space.....i use my sidekick 2 for sending text, and its got plenty of memory
