You may need a special program and data cable in order to do it. As for deleting them straight from the phone, you can't delete anything with a little lock next to it.
Im using Motorola Mobile PhoneTools. Im able to upload ringtones and wallpaper to my phone but i can not delete anything that came with the phone because the software does not recognize it.
