Hi, I have a motorola c155 tracphone. It was stolen, now I am getting harrassing calls at my home and other numbers from someone who got them off my cell phone. I called tracphone today and had the phone deactivated.
She said this would prevent them from getting into my phone and seeing my personal info and numbers I had stored. Does anyone know if this is true? I need to know.

The smartest to do when you lose a phone is to call your provider immediately to deativate SIM or on non-GSM phones, have the serial number blacklisted. A SIM, once deactivated is dead and cannot be reactivated period.
Hopefully the thief didn't rack up charges before you notified the carrier. With the help of Customer service, you might be able to find out the phone numbers called while out of your possession and if you are cagey enough, you might be able to identify your thief.

sorry your phone got stolen. tell everyone you know that thats not your number anymore, before they try impersonating you. using your number.
yes the provider can block the sim. the theif still has your phone however, and knowing tracfone, can probaly get customer service to send them a new sim card. So it really depends on what you stored on your phone, and what was stored on the SIM chip. I think on that phone the phonebook is by default stored all on the sim though. chances are its someone who you know doesnt like you if they are wasting there time harassing you. or a couple of 13 year olds with nothing better to do.
