Did you manually install the modem drivers for the V3cm? Or did you let the software automatically load the V3c drivers?

To accomplish this you need to follow these simple instructions:

First, make sure your MPT is updated as far as you can go (currently v4.0.4b). Then click on "Menu", go to "General Setup" and click the "Communications" tab. Click "Change Modem" and follow the instructions. When you get to the "detect driver" screen, put a check mark in the box next to "Do not automatically detect driver. Select from list." and click "Next".

Choose "Motorola CDMA" and scroll the list until you see "V3cm". Select this phone and click "Next". Then, simply click "Finish" and it will reload MPT. Your phone will be recognized and you will have access to the "Multimedia Studio" options.

If you have done all of this and you are still having problems... then I can't help you. Hopefully there is someone else on these forums who has the fix for you.

    Good luck.

If updating the software and changing the drivers didn't fix the problem, you may have a technical issue with the phone itself. Unfortunately, this probably can't be fixed by anyone but Verizon. Check your phone to make sure the software version currently loaded is GATW_01.0F.02, if it is not then you may not be able to do anything about it. However, you may want confirmation from a Verizon expert, I am only guessing here. I can tell you that once I configured the software as above, I was and still am, able to go directly into Multimedia Studio and upload ringers, wallpapers, screensavers and videos with no problem.

Also, the problem with using Bluetooth on your computer is that Verizon has disabled OBEX, which is what would allow you to transfer files to your phone via Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, I can not be much help as the SLVR is GSM and I am only familiar with Verizon on CDMA. However, as long as your software is up to date and you have the correct drivers loaded, you should not have any issues with MPT. Also, I think MPT may not support the SLVR yet, though I do not know this for sure.

i just downloaded some drivers and i have two choices for the xp drivers:
USBMOT2000.INF- says its a moto modem INF and is driver version 2/2/2005, 3.4.0.2
    then there is this one:
MOTBLAN.INF- says moto lan INF and is driver version 03/11/2005, 1.00.00.00

I tried both of these drivers and the phone still disconnects when i open the multimedia studio.

just found my phone software version and it says GATW_01.0F.03

I can't say for certain, but I would guess that Verizon got smart and applied a software patch that causes the problem you are describing. Your software version is newer than mine. I had heard that future updates would actually open up some of the disabled functionality of the V3c, but it could just as easily go the other way.

Anyone from Verizon got more details?

    Mobile Phone Tools

I actually couldn't find my phone at all listed on the mobile phone tools so I chose the next closest thing which was the V3 RAZR. The software works fine now and I am able to send and receive files to my phone despite the fact that it thinks it is a RAZR.

That is probably because it is a RAZR, just without the "flip". LOL!!!

You might want to post in the Verizon forums. There are quite a few Verizon employees on this site, they might be able to help.
