MPT virus?

i have a question...i was wondering if there is any possilbe way that mobile phone tools can send a virus to ur phone..i downloaded it for my razr from a link on these forums and it works great sending ringtones and things but i did it first with my motorola v180 and after i had the phone for about 6 months..it glitched out and just wouldnt turn on or off...is there any way rthis was caused by a virus sent through mpt? i downloaded it illegally i guess so im curious if this is the problem or if its just a coincidence..please help me

coincidence there has only been a virus on sybian phones moto doesn't use it and a virus written for windows or mac would not affect the phone
