Howdy Joyce,
Do you want to
pay to unlock your phone or get it done for
free?
They reason I ask is, free options, depending on your ability and willingness to read and understand how and what to unlock your phone with, is the difference between unlocking your phone and turning it in to a papwerweight that looks like a cell phone.
Paid will get the job done quick and often while you wait (depending on where you live), and may cost you between $15 and $40, (again depending on where you live).
Free go here to read and understand how to unlock your phone:
http://xlr8.us/hofo/ <--- will tell you exactly what you will need and where you can find the tools to unlock your phone.

The program above will allow you to modify many of your phone's features with GUI.
For pay options, just go to Google.com and type in:
Unlock Motorola V600
The best free option, if you are still using this phone with the service provider it's locked to, is to call up customer service, tell them that you are planning a trip out of the country (Europe is a nice place to visit), tell then you would like the Subsidy unlock code, which will allow you to put local prepaid
SIM cards in your phone, while you are on vacation/business in several countries.
They will ask for the phone's
IMEI number. You can find your phone's
IMEI number, behind the battery or by typing
*#06# on your phone's keypad, the number that appears on the screen is your
IMEI number.
