Hey guys, I just bought my brand new l7 from:
http://www.digitalmegastore.com/prod...TOKEN=84424590 . I was so excited because it is my first unlocked phone. It did not come with a micro-sd card like most companies include, which pissed me off but its my fault for not making sure it was listed with the accesories. When I opened the box (in front of the t-mobile sales rep) I was astonished to see that it came with a european plug charger. The website did not say anything about the phone being from europe. Motorola included an adapter for US plugs, so the sales rep stuck his
sim card in it and the battery and plugged it into the wall. when he turned it on the first thing my phone ever said to me was "Akku wird geladen." the entire users manual was in german too. We couldn't get it past that screen, so i took the phone home to translate it. it means basically the battery is charging. so i let the battery charge for a few minutes then stuck my friend's
sim card in and the english
sim card changed the phone's setting to english. my friend had to leave, so i was not able to make a test call, but i did officially access the phone for the first and last time. i decided to let the phone charge all day, then take it back to t-mobile the next day. when i checked on the phone around 8:00pm i noticed that the battery was still not charged. I got a different friend's
sim card and stuck it in there and when i powered it up I got a flashing black and white screen. I was puzzled, so i took out the
sim card and looked at the battery to discover that it had a hole melted through it (which i assume is because of the differences in current between europe and america). So now i must buy a new battery and a new charger and a micro-sd card which will probably end up costing me an extra 100$. I am so pissed. the moral of the story is to know what you are buying before you buy it.
