What the guy meant to say was ... if something is not in front of him, hanging off the end of his nose, it does not exist.

As Korean_Boi has shown, there are things out there, not hanging off the guys nose that told you that.

In most cases it might be easier to just get a phone that does support BT. Because by the time you get an adapter for the phone, and add the BT adapter for the computer, and then a BT earpiece you have spent almost as much if not more money, than it would cost to buy many of the entry level BT phones out there.

Of course if you are in love with the phone you have, that's a different story.

i hear ya bear, but it's more of weighing out these factors...

how much is a new BT phone

    vs.

cost of adding a BT adapter to your phone.

either way you go, you still have to get the dongle for your computer, and a BT earpiece. so those don't figure into the equation...in fairness.

but remember, if you opt for the new BT phone, i'm sure somebody out there is looking to buy a v266.

Also take into consideration the bluetooth adapter hanging off the bottom of your current phone. I tried this out in store once...WOW, what a annoyance!

The adapter didn't fit that well, it will make your current carrying device (pouch, clip on, etc) obsolete because of the extra couple inches the adapter adds to your phone.

I becomes one more piece of equipment that could fail you, or worse, lose.

To me, it would be easier to get a new bluetooth phone, and then a nice bluetooth earbud.

Of course your still going to have to get a dongle for your computer if it's not bluetooth already.

but hypothetically, if you're like me, i only use a headset while driving. so it'd be appropriate for that purpose.

ultimately, i think it's a pretty lame gadget. lol, you're adding a corded device to eliminate a corded earpiece. classic.

a friend of mine purchased a bluetooth adapter for his nextel. it worked with his phone and all, but he needed to have a Jabra earpiece because you cant enter a code into it like with a normally bluetooth phone.

Yup that's the deal buy a phone BT ready or Daisy chaining your cell phone with devices and add-ons. It works, but is it really portable?

I remember what that was like with many of the earlier home computers. Buy a box for this, and cart for that, and cable to connect a thing-a-ma-gig to the entire setup. It all worked great, but some of the options forced you to have a computer desk as wide as a kitchen table in many cases.

    Re: Bluetooth for non-bluetooth phones

it sounds like it'll be a pain to get a bluetooth phone. maybe not, but i'm a little more comfortable with the gsm phones and how easy it is to switch carriers.

maybe the daisy chain option is looking a little bit better?

don't forget the cigarette lighter adapter to power it all. the one that turns into a 'power strip'.
