You will need a USB data cable that was made to ALSO charge the phone.
Just because it's a USB data cable, does not mean it is also wired to charge the phone.

Example I have an original Motorola USB cable, it allows for plugging a walls charging cable INTO a port on the cable, but the cable itself does not charge the phone.

There are USB data cables made that can alsi charge the phone. But the cable has to be made that way and advertised that way as well.
