Motorola i850 (Nextel)

i have a Motorola i850 from nextel and i wanted to know if anyone was having the same problem i was having. well from time to time i get text messages LATE. i will get some text messages a day later or hours later or minutes, it is not instant like it should be when i had cingular wireless. if anyone has a solution to this please help me out!!! i get some important text messages TOO LATE SOMETIMES AND IT'S KILLING ME!

I've heard a lot about delayed SMS from nextel. Even at full signal. It is probably the network and not the phone. If the timeliness of the info is important have them call you, and leave a VM if you arn't there to answer. This is much more reliable.

SMS with NEXTEL is horrible. no one has really ever had good luck with it. all you can do is get another carrier for messages, like i use t mobile with a sidekick 2 for messages. if you dont wanna take the method, then you will just have to wait for delayed messages. sometimes i waited over a day to get a text from my sidekick to my nextel....

have you checked youre notification settings?

i have set mine to recieve immed. but it doesnt change anything on mine...

i have played with all the settings and still nothing! i dont really want to get another carrier just for text messages..carrying two phones around isnt pleasant. do you think getting a Blackberry would solve this problem?

i know what you are saying about getting text messages a day late too...I HATE IT! i'll get a text at some random time in the morning and then i have to try and figure out if the text was sent just then or previously. sometimes i don't get text messages and the person thinks i am ignoring them

IF it is a network issue then switching phones shouldn't make any difference. Especially if you are in an area of good coverage.

yea, NEXTEL/BOOST is bad for messages, other than voicemail. changing phones wont make a difference. nor changing locations. i have texted my NEXTEL from my sidekick 2 having them right next to each other, and it took over a day to get the message...

so if this is a network issue why isnt nextel doing something about it? has anyone on here called it in to nextel to complain about it? i know i have so the more people that call maybe the more noise we will make forcing them to do something about the issue.

i doubt that they will change all of this. i dont think that there are enough people to complain about this issue. i dont think i know anyone personally that uses thier NEXTEL for messages.....i know i dont

i dont use my nextel just for messages but i do use text messaging

My brother has an i850 and has told me to never send him another text. I didn't think it was the phone itself, he had already blamed Nextel for it. When someone sends him a text message, he sometimes doesn't get it for several hours, or there was one time it took a whole day!
