i recently purchased a V551 with a Rogers plan, and decided to download some ringtones/games/graphics. When i saw the prices, i remembered that i had heard about being able to connect your phone with your computer and transfer files onto it for free. I got a cable off Ebay, along with a driver CD. When it arrived, the cable fit perfectly, and i installed MPtools (was on the CD). i WAS expecting it to be a tool for transfering files onto my phone, but it isn't. I can't see my phone as USB connected hardware, and cant transfer anything. Can i get some help?

The version of Motorola Phone tools that you have, what version is it? And have you updated the version of MPT that you have to the latest version?

Ok use the update feature and update the program to 4.04b or higher. Restart the program and it should detect your V551. I know it detects my V557 and it's just an updated v551 for the most part.
