Data cable for V551 from V600 phone

My wife had a data cable for V600 & has got a new phone I think it is a V551It does not work for some reason, could it be that it needs different software. If it does can someone please give me a address to download a copy for the new phone. thanks if you can help Jack

What software is she using? And has she updated the software to detect newer phones?

though the usb cable for the v600 fits the v551, it is not compatable, get the proper one for the v551.

Would the software be Motorola Phone Tools? If so the program under the SETUP menu, allows for UPDATING the software.

TonyE just pointed out that you will need a different cable for the V551, so until then just updated the software (if it in indeed Motorola Phone Tools), in the manner suggested.

thanks I will try updateing the software , but will i need a new cable it does seam like it does fit real good in the phone might it work? o ya I forgot it say it is motorola Phone Tools!
