Chet, if you are looking for something in the V3 price range, the N-series is not for you, they cost hundreds of dollars more... And they are quite chunky, not thin and small like what you are looking for. Check out the Sony Ericsson k510, I reccomended it in your post in the Nokia section.
As for the SLVR, it is a very thin phone indeed, but it's taller and wider than the k510. The k510 is more pocketable and durable for sure. Also, you say you are interested in camera, and the SLVR only has a VGA camera (0.3 megapixel), which isn't very good by today's standards.
Pricewise, the I believe the SLVR is the same price as the k510 (about $150). It supports iTunes and a memory card for playing mp3s, but that isn't what you are interested in, you told me.
